Malacca Trip 16/8 - 18/8

Okay, dun laugh.
This is my 1st time to Melaka eventhough I've been studying for more than 2 years in Johor.
*shame shame*

It's better late than never right ?
So i've decided to make my 'virgin' trip to Melaka on the 1st sem break with Jo.
We booked a hotel ( Hallmark Hotel ) which is only 5 minute away from Jonkers Street for Rm172 ( 2 nights ).
The hotel was nothing to rave about like where my 'mum' n 'dad' stayed ( they went to Melaka on the same day too ).
But it fulfilled our basic needs n it included breakfast too. =)
I still think that the breakfast buffet was kinda too simple.
fried mee, fried rice, banana / pandan cake, toasted bread and tea / coffee only.
Aiya, whatever la... =P


And the unlucky us bought the 3pm bus to Melaka bcos 'all' the morning bus were fully booked.
Sigh.
So after checking in our rooms about 3 hours later, we took a short break and went to the famous Jonkers Street around 7pm.

Well...I couldnt help control myself from buying this buying that once i'm immersed in JS.
And in the end i bought lots of 'not 3 not 4' stuff like how Jimmy described.

And and and....i ate a very tasty food called 算盘子...It was so much like the 'o-kueh' that i used to eat in Kuching except this is so much tastier !
Ooh...i miss it so much now......

Jonkers Street

Many many people...

Yea, this is one of the 'not 3 not 4' stuff that i've bought. hehe....

The next day, we went shopping for the whole day as there will be a lot of people at the historical attractions on Sunday.

We dunno what is that building but still camwhore with it....

And later found out that it's Masjid kampung Kling.
The oldest Masjid in M'sia which has the characteristic of Sumatera Architecture.
Okay, whatever...


well...i took this pic without knowing wat building it is oso.... =P

And it turned out to be Kuil Sri Poyyatha Vinayagar Moothi.
It is build on 1781 and is one of the oldest Kuil in M'sia for the Chitty.

After see this pic i decided not to buy that necklace liao lo.

We spend the whole afternoon shopping.
And went back to our hotel to have a rest before going out for dinner in the evening.


I've finally tasted cendol...hehe...it's super delicious lor....

We had our dinner of Satay Celup at a recommended restaurant.
I love it super much...yummy !
i really missed satay celup now lo....

We went to have a ride in the newly opened Malacca Tower after that.

The tower is about 18M high i think....duh..i didnt listen to the explaination ma.
For me, the ride was quite dizzying....
It would be much better if they can slow down the speed and at least stop for a minute for every rotation at the top most point ma....
cuz my damn stupid BenQ cam canot take a nice picture at night without blurring like hell !

We watched a movie at Mahkota after that.
We watched La Lingerie. It is a damn funny and yet touching movie.
Recommended. =P

what we've bought throughout these 2 days.
1 cute giraffe, 3 bracelet, 2 hp pouch, 1 fake Odm watch ( ended up giving my sis ), a pair of 'couple' watch, a tube from FOS, a shirt from Cheetah ( Jo's ), couple malacca T-shirt from a T-shirt designer that Acy didnt manage to interview =P, and Jo bought 3 necklace, 1for Daigao, Ah Liang n himself

The next day, which is also our last day, we visited all the famous historical places in Malacca.

We visited St Paul Church first.
The church is build on top of a small hill during the year 1521.
St Francis Xavier was buried here during the year 1553...

Jo bought a cowboy hat... -_-lll i reli dun understand why....

he forced me to wear it.....duh...told him i look ugly liao lo....

We then proceed to A'Famosa.

After that we came across a plane....

Next, We proceed to Maritime museum..


Look ma, a portugal ship neh~

The entrance fee is Rm3 per adult....
The ship is a replica of the real Portugal ship - Flor de la Mar which had sunk at the coastal area of Malacca.

They keep on blocking my way eventhough it's clear that i wanna take picture.

I hate places with so damn many people.
So the whole time on the ship my face is black... =P

There's nothing much to see oso.


We had lunch near the malacca river.
I had my very first chicken rice balls !
hehe...but reli, i think normal rice is tastier lor...
anyway, i ady tried the 3 main items on my malacca to-eat-list...
so i'm quite happy ady.... =P

We proceeded to Christ Church after lunch.

Many many hawker stalls beside christ church....

and many many beca....I've decided for a long time whether to have a ride or not...but in the end the 'kiamsiap' me decided not to. heheh....
Rm8 per ride lei...so damn expensive

Christ church ...It took 3 shoots from 2 different stangers to get the whole christ church into the frame. so hard meh?

What fascinated me is the hand-made chairs inside the chuch which has a lot of 'feel' in it.
It's a combination of rattan and wood.
We went inside to have a few minutes of rest / pray whatever....
My aunt said that ur 1st prayer said inside the church u've nvr been before will be granted.
I dono how true is that...but still i prayed that everyone will be healthy. =P
that's what mattered most right?

And last but not least, The Stadhuys.

Nothing much to see also...juz wanna fulfill my desire to visit all the malacca to-see list of mine.

The Stadhuys, build at 1650, is believed to be the oldest british building in the East.
It used to be the British gabernors' residential building.
Now, it is used as the museum for history and Etnography.


I then pulled him to visit the Architecture Museum nearby since we still have a few hours left...

S'wak's Fort Magaritha, Shophouses, and the big clock tower.

Nothing much to see except models of buildings....which is quite nice.


After that i pulled him inside another museum ( Malacca sure has a lot of museum... ).

The Stamp Musuem

I know i know....of all museum, i didnt even know why i want to choose to visit this musuem....
It just sort of attract me a little bit only....cuz my childhood hobby is collecting stamps.
and the entrance fee is Rm1...
and i think ' how come muz pay entrance fee one? muz be got something to see inside they baru will collect fee one...'
so i stupidly paid the Rm1 and kena tipu inside.
stupid hor ? people see free baru go in, but i see got fee i baru willing to go in. -_-lll

But it's kinda fun also cuz Jo and i ever collect stamps before and we were excited to spot which stamp we have...
Made me kinda miss my childhood....


The story of the famous Pahang Bisects...Oohh...i never knew that got this type of stamp. see, i learned something....

and there's also overprints on plain paper...lidat also call stamp... -_-lll


We went back to our hotel after that and took a taxi to Malacca central around 4.30pm and managed to get ourselves 5.30pm ticket back to Johor.

I forgot to mention that i bought a set of Olympic stamp at the Stamp museum for Rm10. e..i donno why i buy it also.... =P

And i really love this wooden giraffe ! I used to have this giraffe when i was a kid. Now i dono where has it gone ady...but now i finally find a replacement for it ! I named it 'GIRAFFE' !!!

Getting weaker and weaker...ooo i love it sooo much ! I have a thing with wooden toys...dono why...Wooden toys fascinated me a lot.



That's all for Malacca...
