Penang Trip (16/11-25/11) Part II ( Pulau Pangkor )

Day 6 ( 21/11 )

We visited Pangkor Island for 2 days 1 night.

We departed around 10am and after a 3 hours drive, we finally reached Sitiawan.
We had lunch of yummy red wine mee sua at Han Han's house made by her mum and after a short rest we departed to the jetty.
Han Han joined us bcos we need someone who can ride motorbike she is our tour-guide. =P

Beware of fierce dogs! I love her 'small yellow' ( xiao Huang ) dog lor....damn cute...

reached Pangkor near 3pm !! It's a fishing village..

1st thing when reach the island - rent motorbikes

There are 4 of us and luckily Han Han and Liang can ride motor so yay we can go round the island in motorbike!!!

the kitchen n our spacious air-conditioned room

Actually we paid Rm100 for just a room so the other rooms in the house are unaccessible.
But the room is big enough for the 4 of us to sleep in.
The best thing is that we got the whole house to ourselves!

After a short rest we made our trip to the beach.

reached Teluk Nipah..There's a lot of stalls selling beach stuffs..

We parked our motor there and went down to the beach.

Somehow i think the beach is too crowded..

We then paid Rm30 for a speed boat which brings us island hopping ( is actually Island-seeing )

we stopped to feed the fishies here...

and the boat finally stopped at a nearby small island for us to play with the water.

We are given 45 minutes there. ( we can actually stay whole day but hey it's 6pm already )

I didn't get to snorkel bcos we didn't rent a mask and well...the water is more of a greenish type ( which means not so clear ) plus we are given so little time so i didnt really play with the water.

I walk around taking photos instead...and given a lousy cam ( yes i know i complain so many times already ) which canot take good photos under dim light, most of the photos are blur >.<#

Han Han climbed up the rocks EASILY.. ( I'm not short, i'm just not-that-tall can? )

Han Han picked a sea cucumber ( there's a lot of long-long ones )...squeezed, rubbed and massaged it until it dies. -__-lll

I conquered my fear of sea cucumber ( ok la not that scare but i feel geli looking at it ) during my last scuba diving trip to Pulau Aur, so i joined in the fun of picking up the sea cucumbers and scaring the guys! ^^ I'm amazed that the 2 big guys are scared of it! muahahaha...

A malay guy approached Han Han and asked her if she is from Korea!!! =P

we returned to the mainland 45 minutes later ..

we visited the Lin Je Kong after that...It's also a perfect spot to view the sunset ^^

Pangkor is so full of weird animals....

Due to bad weather, the sun got stuck behind the clouds halfway. Argh!

After our hearty meal of seafood at a restaurant outside our house, we strolled along the beach nearby and i finally saw the glow-in-the-dark blue plankton that sparkles like little diamond along the sand. But the light diminished in just a few second. =(
Not much, but they're pretty ! =)

We then returned to our house and ride the motor out to town.
We visited Foo Lin Kong temple ( the 3 big kids played with the slide there...-_-lll ) and just ride aimlessly along the road after that.
It was freezing cold riding the motor at night but syok !

We played with cards and sleep in early after that.

Day 7 ( 22/11 )

Visited Foo Lin Kong in the morning.

After Foo Lin Kong, we went to the Dutch Fort.

i'd like to know who is the landscape designer...

Give me some bricks and i can also build u a fort like this. =P

I guess it loses it's way in the sea..

We made our way to our last stop after that...

the fun begins...

The road is full of steep slopes and the journey back is like on a roller coaster...wee~!
( yes i know it's actually very dangerous plus we're not wearing the coconut helmet but it's fun! )

We went back to the house and packed everything after that.
We leave in the afternoon after buying some souvenirs.


For me, Pangkor is a totally different island compared to the other islands i've been to.
So i cannot quite compare it with the other islands.
The water is not as clear and blue ( i admit having a shock when reaching Pangkor bcos it's not the type of island i imagined it to be. ) n i didnt get to snorkel ( T.T ) but i do enjoy the laid-back feel of the small village. =)
2 days 1 night is not really enough for me to truly enjoy my stay there.. =(


we started our long drive back to Penang after stopping for food at Sitiawan n Han Han's house...
which leaves me full for the whole night.

Had Duck egg Char Kueh Tiao as our supper after reaching BM !

omg this is the yummiest dish i ever had...

I swear it's the best Char Kueh Tiao i ever had in my whole life.
It's by the roadside at BM ( paiseh i donno the road name ) and it's actually quite famous.
Liang said u got to order at least 3 glass of water in order to wait for the food to arrive.
And it's true.
And i think the wait is worth it.
Bcos omg it's so delicious! =D
I love the duck egg !!! *drooling*

Luckily i didn't stay at Penang or i'll be double the size i am now. =P
